A Cornerstone of Our Mission
At Precious Wings, education is at the heart of what we do.
We believe that confident, compassionate, and well-equipped health professionals make an extraordinary difference for grieving families.

Our mission is to ensure that every professional — from nurses and midwives to doctors and social workers — feels supported and empowered to provide consistent, meaningful bereavement care.
When health professionals feel prepared to walk alongside families with empathy and understanding, it helps ensure no family faces their grief alone.
Empowering Health Professionals to Support Grieving Families
The quality of support given to bereaved families at the time of losing their child is a major factor affecting the way in which they manage their journey of grief. Education for health professionals is a cornerstone of Precious Wings’ mission in providing comprehensive bereavement support.

We aim to empower health professionals to feel confident, supported, and equipped to use our resources effectively as tools to guide meaningful conversations with families following the loss of a child. Our goal is to ensure consistent, compassionate bereavement care is provided and to allow families every opportunity to create tangible memories during their time of loss.
In 2025, we will be expanding our education programs to reach more health professionals across the state. This will include a diverse range of offerings, such as online courses, video resources, short in-services, half and full-day training sessions, including simulation to practice the skills learnt in a safe, supported space. Additionally, we aim to develop a tailored curriculum for various health settings and create a comprehensive suite of resources that can be left with hospitals and health services to support ongoing bereavement care.

Building Confidence in Difficult Moments
Health professionals often describe feeling helpless or unsure when supporting a grieving family.
Through education, we provide practical guidance, conversation starters, and real-world techniques to help you offer comfort, create space for memory-making, and walk gently beside families during devastating moments.

When we are equipped, we not only ease the burden for families — we also sustain ourselves as caring professionals.
